Although it's been almost 13 years since I've had a drink, the College Inn Pub remains a place of pilgrimage for me. I love the old fashioned hardwood decor, the delicious chili, and the fact that the other bars on the Ave tend to siphon off the sports spectators and cede the place to folks who prefer relative quiet and intelligible conversation. I'll be returning to the College Inn Pub for as long as we're both still in Seattle.

Great beer variety. The entrance is a tad hard to find but once you find it, great interior. They get very busy and loud during trivia nights. So avoid it that night of the week. Or if you want to play trivia, which is a lot of fun, get there early.

Tucked into the basement, this bar is a classic dive! Somewhere from 8-10 beers on tap. Two pool tables. Neither seem to spit out all of the pool balls, but that adds to the charm. Pretty reasonable pricing overall.

This cozy basement pub reminds me of all the true pubs I have come across in the UK with all the exposed dark crooked timbers and hidden nooks around each corner. The best part about this place is that you can have one group of folks loudly partying on one side, then others reading or studying on the other, and there's the regulars just sitting at the bar in the center minding their own business.

Classic U district underground pub. Pool tables and darts a plenty. Nothing fancy but that is the beauty and charm of this place. It is nice they offer mixed drinks and well drinks at a decent price. The food is as you would expect for a dark and greasy place, but it satisfies the pallet after a couple of drinks.
